As a result of feedback from Visioning Day 2009, Homes for Families has created the “Opening Doors” blog as a way for shelter providers and families to network, communicate, share resources and learn from others throughout the Commonwealth.
This blog offers stakeholders an online center to discuss issues, ask questions, give answers, find resources, read meeting minutes, post job descriptions and resumes, and learn about happenings in the field. Please take time to browse the blog’s content and categories, pose a question to the community, and let Homes for Families know if there is anything you would like us to add.
Homes for Families is an advocacy organization that builds powerful relationships between homeless and formerly homeless families, shelter/service providers, concerned citizens, the business community, government and others who share the goal of ending family homelessness.
We promote family empowerment and self-advocacy and bridge diverse constituencies to promote collaborative policy making.
Through educating, organizing and advocating, we help lessen the devastating effects of homelessness on families and the communities in which they live.
