If we want to solve homelessness, we need housing. If we want to address the shortage of affordable housing, we need the state to invest money in solutions. The Campaign for our Communities supports increased revenues to pay for the things communities need.
Please join us at the Campaign for our Communities Lobby Day on Tuesday, March 12th!
Your participation will be crucial to this exciting and important part of the campaign for new revenue to invest in better schools, safer neighborhoods, and stronger communities. New revenue will be critical for FY14 budget funding, including MRVP, HomeBASE, child care, education and to maintain the safety net.
The Lobby Day will be on Tuesday, March 12th in Gardner Auditorium at the State House from 10:30 to 12:00 followed by legislative visits.
- There will be a 30-45 minute program/rally from 11 a.m. to noon.
- At noon, you will receive the materials you need to talk that day to your Representatives and Senators about supporting new revenue.
- If you can’t make it to the State House in the morning, you can join in from 3-4:30 p.m. as the campaign makes a second round of visits to legislators. While there won’t be a rally, they will make sure you have the materials you need.
- There is a snow date set for March 26th. The program and time of the event would be the same as outlined above.
We hope you can participate in this important event!
