EOHHS announces FY2014 Budget Hearings – December 10th and 13th


Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) has just announced the dates for the FY2014 Budget hearings in Boston and Northampton. The amount of time allocated for the public to testify in each hour block is very short. Folks are encouraged to get there early if they want to try to testify in person.  Testimony can also be emailed to EOHHS at the following email address: HUeohhshearings@massmail.state.ma.us

Boston, Monday, December 10, 2012

The Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) will be conducting a public hearing on the upcoming Fiscal Year 2014 budget. Secretary JudyAnn Bigby, M.D., and the Assistant Secretaries at EOHHS are looking forward to hearing the views of members of the community.

             10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

10:00 to 11:00

Children, Youth and Families – DCF, DYS, ORI, DTA

11:00 to 12:00

Disabilities & Community Services – MCDHH, MCB, MRC, DDS

12:00 to 1:00

Veterans, Elder Affairs, Soldiers’ Homes

1:00 to 2:00

Health Services – DMH, DPH, DHCFP, MassHealth

The FY14 state budget is expected to be challenging. Agencies will provide an overview of their goals and priorities.

Due to the number of individuals anticipated to attend the hearings, oral testimony will be limited to three minutes per individual. In the interest of time, representative panels are welcome and will be limited to a total of five minutes of oral testimony. Individuals will be called to provide oral testimony based on the order in which they sign in at the hearing.

The FY2014 budget will also be on the agenda for the December 12th Boston Advisory Board Meeting at Higher Ground. The Board will review/confirm the FY2014 recommendations made at the September meeting and communicate them to the Commissioner. Members are encouraged to also share their concerns and funding priorities to EOHHS and the Governor directly (not as a Board member, however, per the bylaws)
