Visioning Day 2011 was held last Wednesday and we feel that it was a successful event. We hope that attendees found the event educational, thought provoking, and energizing. Homes for Families will create a report based on the information you provided and release it at a State House event early this fall.
We have posted all of the materials from the event on this blog, which can be found to the right under the “Documents and Materials” category. At the event, attendees wanted to know how to locate HomeBASE docs on the DHCD website. They can be found at this web address: http://www.mass.gov/?pageID=ehedterminal&L=3&L0=Home&L1=Housing+Development&L2=Rental+Assistance+Management&sid=Ehed&b=terminalcontent&f=dhcd_ph_hbase&csid=Ehed
Finally, one theme from every Visioning Day is the lack of affordable housing. Here is an immediate opportunity to do something about it. One way to increase construction of affordable housing is through the capital budget (which is created outside of the state budget process), and the Governor has the ability to increase funding for the capital budget. Please take a minute to download one of two letters in support of more funding for affordable housing construction (find them here), print it, sign it, and send it to:
