We are pleased to provide you with the following preliminary review of the FY2011 budget recommendations released by House Ways and Means this afternoon. A more in depth analysis will follow.
The Massachusetts Rental Voucher Program (MRVP, line item 7004-9024) was level funded at $35.4 million. This will allow DHCD to fund the 5,100 vouchers currently in use.
The family shelter account (EA, line item 7004-0101) was funded at $113 million. This will allow for DHCD to once again start up their Flex Funds program in FY2011.
Residential Assistance for Families in Transition (RAFT, line item 7004-9316) was funded at $260,000. This recommended funding is $200,000 more than the governor recommended but far short of its previous funding of $5.5 million.
Public Housing operating subsidies (line item 7004-9005) funding was recommended at $62.5 million.
Employment and training services (ESP, line item 4401-1000) was level funded at $23 million.
Thank you once again to the families, providers, advocacy liaisons and others who worked to ensure funding for these critical programs!
